5 Must Visit cities in Switzerland!!

Updated: Nov 27, 2020

Kashmir is known as Switzerland of India. But ideally Switzerland should be called as Kashmir of Europe.

(Trust me, Kashmir is 10 times more beautiful and larger than Switzerland)

Switzerland Currency is Swiss Francs and Capital Of Switzerland is Bern.

Switzerland is always clubbed with other European countries. For that reason at least, these 5 cities must not be missed at any cost or else your Switzerland trip is incomplete.

Transportation:

For DIY travel, I do not think there is any other country which has perfect transportation services which are ON TIME ALL THE TIME. With Swiss tourist pass which costs 418 CHF for 8 days ( approx. Rs.34000) you are good to go!!! This pass includes every single transport system available within Switzerland i.e. Train, tram, boat, bus and more than 500 museums and if you are below 26 years then its just 357 CHF for 8 days ( approx. Rs.29000). There are passes available depending on number of days you need.

You can get the pass online. Check here.

1.Mount Titlis

Titlis is a mountain of the Uri Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Bern. It is the highest summit of the range north of the Susten Pass, between the Bernese Oberland and Central Switzerland. It is mainly accessed from Engelberg (OW) on the north side and is famous as the site of the world's first rotating cable car. The cable car system connects Engelberg (996 m (3,268 ft)) to the summit of Klein Titlis (3,028 m (9,934 ft)) through the three stages of Gerschnialp , Trübsee and Stand

World's first rotating cable car is the main attraction at Mount Titlis.

2. Jungfraujoch: Top Of Europe

Saddle connecting to Bernese Alps with Sphinx observatory. Take a train from Interlaken and it will take you directly till top of Europe.

The View is breath taking. And also there is Indian restaurant but very costly.

3. Geneva

Famous For United Nations Head quarter, tallest Fountain at Geneva Lake, Flower Clock.

Best part of these cities is that you can cover whole city on foot in a day. The infrastructure is medieval time, beautiful just to look at it, walk in city with no traffic whatso ever and peaceful and quite. Something about these cities is just peaceful.

4. Bern: Capital Of Switzerland

Though it is a capital of Switzerland, It is one of the smallest Cities in Switzerland.

Famous for House of Albert Einstein, his museum, Old City Of Bern with Medieval look with Tower watch. Old city is surrounded by a river.

Other off beat sites are Rose Garden, Bern zoo, Museum of Natural history. All these you can cover in a day and be done by evening.

5. Lucerne

City in Central Switzerland with population of 82000 ( so funny to hear that for someone from Mumbai 😂 ) It is famous for Kapellbrücke (the famous Wooden bridge which is seen in many Bollywood and Hollywood movies, Löwendenkmal famous sleeping lion statue, Old town, City walls, Traditional frescoed building. Again, this city also can be covered in a day on foot. That's the best part about any city in Switzerland.

There are plenty of other off beat places in Switzerland, specially their villages among the mountains. But for those who are on tight schedule these places are a must.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask and also we are welcome for any suggestions.

Have a nice day. If you do visit these places, let us know your experience. ❤
